The Halton Hills Public Library offers a variety of book clubs and related events for people of all ages. Some of our past book clubs and events include:

  • Wines and Spines
  • One Book, One Halton Hills
  • Acton Book Club
  • Cocoa Club and Jr. Cocoa Club (book clubs for children)
  • Spinebreakers (book club for teens)
  • Coffee, Books and Conversation
  • Unbook Club

Please note: Many of these programs are offered in 8 week sessions four times a year. Some programs require registration and some require fees (to cover instructors and materials) that must be paid at registration.

Registration dates for 2019 are:

  • November 19, 2018 (winter session);
  • February 25th, 2019 (spring session);
  • May 27th, 2019 (summer);
  • August 19th (fall session).

Borrow a Book Club in a Bag

The Library has over 140 book club kits that can be borrowed for an extended loan period of up to six weeks. Each bag contains 10 copies of the book and a discussion guide to get you started.

Need ideas? Our book club services can help you select new titles or obtain enough copies for your group.

Custom book club kits

You can order multiple copies of a book for your book club from other libraries. We require a minimum of 3 weeks notice to order custom sets and are unable to accommodate requests for new releases. Selected titles must be more than one year old.

Resources for book clubs

This online database provides reading recommendations, book reviews and author suggestions. It also provides lists of award winners and book club discussion guides.
