Join Us In Celebrating Family Literacy Day

Posted On Thursday January 07, 2021

January 27 is Family Literacy Day, and in celebration, the importance of reading will be emphasized during the entire month.

Join HHPL to have fun and raise literacy awareness! By reading to children and engaging in fun literacy activities regularly, adults actively help children improve their skills. Family literacy activities help strengthen the relationships between family members which encourages lifelong learning. Family literacy focuses on parents, grandparents, and other family members to improve the reading, comprehension, and writing skills of the whole family.

Share the love of literacy!

Halton Hills Public Library would love your help in spreading the word throughout Halton Hills. To show your love of reading and learning, HHPL would like to feature you reading with a family member, child, or grandchild. Share your photo with HHPL on social media (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram) using the hashtag #familyLiteracyDay. HHPL will share, reshare, and retweet your post.

Halton Hills Public Library is holding a wide range of virtual programs this month that emphasize the importance of reading:
