Welcome Back, We Missed You!

Posted On Friday August 14, 2020

We are excited to have you back at Halton Hills Public Library. When you visit, you will notice a few changes. At HHPL we value your safety and we have adapted our branches and spaces to minimize your risk of exposure to Covid-19. You will notice screening upon entry into the building, plexiglass at all service desks, spacing/distancing markers throughout the Library, and signage for required spacing in elevators and study rooms. We’ve added additional spacing between furniture and computers, plus our checkout and self-serve stations have been upgraded to touchless access. Maintenance or Library staff will regularly disinfect all high-touch surface areas, and hand sanitizer is available for public use when entering and leaving the facility and in the washrooms. We hope these changes will make your visit more comfortable and stress-free.

As per Halton Region regulations, masks are mandatory at all Town facilities, so we ask that you please wear one in the Library.

Please place all items you’ve read and used while in the Library, in the quarantine bins when you’re done with them. The bins are located on each level of the Georgetown Branch and throughout the Acton Branch. Please do not pick up used books or items from these bins as they will be quarantined at the end of each day. Please do not place previously borrowed items (items that have left the Library and been brought back) in this bin. Previously borrowed items should be placed in the book return on the outside of our branches. These items will be quarantined for 72 hours when returned.

We ask that if you are feeling unwell, please stay home. Items can be renewed online and items ready for pick up can be extended. Simply call us for assistance at 905-873-2681.

Once again, welcome back to Halton Hills Public Library. If you have any questions, please reach out to us online, via email or by phone. Visit hhpl.on.ca for ways to connect.
