Contactless Item Pickup – How Does It Work?

Posted On Wednesday January 20, 2021

Halton Hills Public Library continues to follow the Province-wide Lockdown requirements, including all updates effective as of 12:01 a.m. on January 14, 2021.

To use HHPL’s Contactless Item Pickup service, please reserve your items on the HHPL website catalogue. Once items have been reserved, please wait for an email or phone call before coming to pick them up. When you have received an email/phone call that your items are ready, you can stop by anytime during regular operating hours to pick them up. Booking a pickup time is not required. Please remember to bring your Library card with you to claim your items and the card must match the card used to place the holds.

Item Pickup Procedure

Enter the building (maintaining a physical distance of six feet from others). Please wear a mask, sanitize your hands, and show your COVID-19 screening ‘green check mark’ from your mobile device. Give your name and present your library card to the staff person seated behind the plexiglass barrier. Staff will get your reserved items, sign them out to you, and set them on the table. Pick up your items and exit the building.
Please Note: 1 person max at a time in the Acton Branch. 3 people max at a time in the Georgetown Branch when picking items up.

Covid-19 Screening

Screening is required. You are encouraged to screen from home before picking items up (Halton Hills Screening). Please show your ‘green check mark’ from your mobile device upon entry into the building. If you cannot screen from home, you will be required to screen when picking items up.

Returning Materials

HHPL asks that you please return your materials in the drop boxes located on the outside of the Library branches. For larger items that do not fit in the drop boxes or that need to be returned in person, please return them to a staff member at the building entrance. Please note that all items will be quarantined for 72 hours before being checked in and processed. As a result, these items will remain on your account until the quarantine period is over.

HHPL Hours of Operation

The Library is open regular operating hours for Contactless Item Pickup and Virtual Court Services only.
