Family Recreation Activities

Posted On Friday June 26, 2020

We understand that during these uncertain times, families may not be able to travel, or may have limited resources to entertainment and activity. So, your Recreation and Parks Department in partnership with your Halton Hills Public Library are thrilled to offer games and equipment for your summer vacation enjoyment!

Residents can borrow a variety of fun activities and inspiring games to play with their family and friends. These activities include: Spikeball, Giant Jenga, Disc Bash, Kubb, Parachute, Boom Whackers, Speed Stacking Sets, Tyke T-Ball Sets, Pop Up Soccer Sets, and more. Active Easy has also contributed Activity Kits for residents to borrow, to assist in making the active choices the easy choices. Each kit includes a dodgeball, basketball, soccer ball, pylons, skipping rope, badminton set (2 racquets and 2 birdies), scoop ball, velcro catch, and sidewalk chalk. Residents are welcome to borrow items for a two-week period by booking online at the Halton Hills Public Library website. The Library is open with limited hours for holds pick up only, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday.

Residents can reserve items through the Library’s online catalogue and an email will be sent once the items are ready for pick up. Due to the size of some of the Family Recreation Activities, we ask that you speak to a Library staff member when you arrive to pick up your order. All reserved items can be picked up on the main level in the Georgetown Branch and in the Community Room at the Acton Branch.

Please Note: Returned activities will be quarantined for a period of 72 hours before being checked in and processed for another patron. This ensures the health and safety of everyone.

To reserve your Family Recreation Activities, please visit the Family Recreation Activities page on the Halton Hills Public Library website.
