Adult and Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Adult and Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Why should kids have all the fun? This summer, we challenge you to read something new, read more often and have fun! Earn ballots for every challenge you complete and get entered into our weekly prize draws. Pick up a contest booklet to get started. The challenge begins Saturday, June 17th 2017.

How does the Summer Reading Challenge work?

Starting Saturday, June 17th and running throughout the summer, contest booklets are available at any library service desk. When you complete a challenge, show your booklet to a library staff member to earn ballots toward our weekly prize draws. There will also be fun ways to engage with other readers on Instagram.

Who can join?

All adults and teens are invited to participate! Joining is as easy as visiting the library and stopping by a service desk to pick up your challenge booklet. Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram to connect with other readers in Halton Hills by using the hashtag #hhplsummer17 to share what you are reading!

What can I win?

Every contest you complete earns you a ballot toward a weekly draw for your choice of a prize pack filled with books. The more challenges you complete, the more chances you have to win! The first draw will be on Tuesday, June 27th. There will also be a grand prize draw for a $50.00 gift card drawn on Tuesday, August 29th. Make sure to have your contests submitted before Friday, August 25th in order to be entered for the grand prize!

When does it start?

The Library’s summer reading programs begin on Saturday June 17th with a launch party at both of our branches. Stop by Acton in the morning and Georgetown in the afternoon for fun and freezies, and don’t miss the Guelph Spectacular Spider-Man! He’ll visit Acton from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm before swinging by Georgetown from 2:00 – 3:00 pm. The Skills Expo is also running at the Georgetown Branch from 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
