The Library prides itself on its local history collection and the support given to genealogists. Resources include print, microforms,  online databases, and best of web picks.
Ancestry Library Edition. Ancestry Library Edition is an essential genealogical tool with thousands of databases and billions of names, including census, vital, church, court, immigration records and more. International coverage including Canada. Access is available in library only.
Best Web Resources. Librarian-compiled list of local history resources.

Halton's Historical Indexes. Search for names and subjects in Halton's local newspaper archives, vital statistics socurces, and images collection.

Library CatalogueSearch for "Genealogy" under General Topics in our catalogue for a complete list of Genealogy guidebooks.
  MicroformsA list of available microforms and the years covered are listed in our Genealogy and Local History Brochure on page 2. Interlibrary Loan is also available for microforms in other libraries, or the national and provincial archives. Please ask staff for assistance.
 
Tips for Genealogy and Local History Research.Some useful research tips are listed in our Genealogy and Local History Brochure. Our staff is pleased to assist you. A reader/printer is available in both branches for print copies of material on microform.
